Raj joined chambers following a successful career in the public sector where he was responsible for dealing with some of the most serious issues facing the criminal justice system. He provided advice to ministers, drafted international protocols and appeared before parliamentary and judicial committees whilst working at the CPS. He gave evidence to the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry and made recommendations on amending the Race Relations Act.

He is a tenacious and versatile barrister who has dealt with everything from terrorism and extradition to people and drug trafficking.
