Michael Goodwin QC will be participating in a Young Citizens Panel on Thursday 11th Feb from 4-5.30 pm. Young Citizens is an education charity helping to inform and empower young people and support teachers. Michael Goodwin QC, Head of Pupillage at Red Lion Chambers has been involved with the Young Citizens charity for 8 years. He has led on the annual Bar Mock Trials which has seen hundreds of pupils across the South of England, aged 15-18years take part in advocacy in mock trials in Crown Courts, gaining valuable experience of the British Judicial system.
Baroness D'Souza will be chairing the panel discussion which will include Dr Andy Mycock; Dr Mo Akindolie (Paediatrician and Assistant Registrar at RCPCH) Dan Lawes, Founder and CEO of Youth Politics UK and Tom Frankline, CEO of Young Citizens.
Discussions will take place around the deep impact of Covid-19 on young people to ensure their voices are heard in the long- term recovery plans - examining what steps need to be taken by government, charities, and the private sector to make this happen with a Q&A to conclude. Michael Goodwin QC said: "I am very much looking forward to taking part in this essential conversation.”
