Riel Karmy-Jones QC and Max Baines secure convictions in major organised crime prosecution

Riel Karmy-Jones QC and Max Baines secured the convictions of Thomas Kavanagh, Gary Vickery and Daniel Canning, members of an organised crime gang, at Ipswich Crown Court on 6 July 2020. The case followed a four year investigation by the National Crime Agency, and involved a sophisticated and large scale conspiracy to import cocaine and cannabis from mainland Europe, concealed in parts of machinery.

Daniel Canning was additionally convicted of possessing a firearm and ammunition. They are due to be sentenced in November.
